About 1605

1605 is an electronic house music Duo from Soweto, we started Deejaying & Production in 2009. Our love for electronic music started in the early 90s & 2000s influenced by artist such as Rocco, Hood Natives, Atjazz, Deep Xcape, Lilac Jeans & Labels such as House Afrika, Soul Candi, Defected, Kalawa & Soulistic Music. Our sound of music is be described as a dark underground sound with strings, chords & Spiky Baselines, its original & it can be associated a little bit on the mainstream.

Everything the duo does weather its production on the deejay both its self-taught and self believe. All the talent possessed its influence by our favorite Labels and producers. The Duo have released a series of successful EP's under our own record label SixteenZeroFive Recordings and featured on labels such as Maru Music, Deep Obsession Recordings and Inspired Music Group. The Duo have worked with the likes of Hood Natives, Master Fale, Eddie Nicholas, Stones & Bones, DeVonde, Claude 9 Morupisi, MusiQWorks, and Darian Crouse.
